Gerard Leeds, the co-founder of CMP Publications, who was both my boss and my friend, has died. He was a giant in the technical publishing field, and, with his wife Lilo, ran what was certainly among the best companies to work for in the country. The Leeds family sold CMP in 1999, and the publishing company declined thereafter (esp. after I was laid off in Oct. 2001, ending a 22-year run), but for 27 years, it was an amazing place run by amazing people who had amazing fun. My condolences to his family. We will all miss him.
